Follow my MSA mornings!

Every morning at 6:30 am, there is a MSA morning run. The whole trail we do is 1.6 miles, but the scholars are able to do it as many times as they would like!

I included this GIF because it honestly looks the same as I looked this morning! Last night, I thought getting up would be no big deal. I stand corrected. If my roommate was not also going on the run, there is no way I would have made it!

I keep calling it a run but in all honesty, I did not run a single step. My roommate, my friend, and I casually strolled through the forest and it was quite enjoyable. I took us a little over 30 minutes to complete the path. While we were walking, a squirrel fell out of a tree right in front of us. Even after it fell from like 15 feet, it just got back up and climbed the tree again. If a squirrel can get back up after it falls then so can you!

Today, I decided I would set my own alarm so I would actually wake up. However, here at the academy the alarm is much closer to my head so when it went off, I nearly fell out of my bed. Besides the fact that I nearly had a heart attack at age 16, it did wake me up!

My friend and I decided to run this morning and it went really well. I did not see any animals on this morning run, but there were a lot of bikers on the trail. If you've ever played chicken on the swings as a kid, that is what this morning felt like. I would look at the bikers and some would signal which way they are going, but for some, it was a lucky guess. All my guesses did end up being right, so maybe I really am gifted!

I ended up not running today, but I had the most amazing sleep!

I woke up today and my roommate asked if I wanted to go back to bed. I said yes, so I was able to sleep in until 7:45 am.
