After majors, minors, and cor, we have a variety of afternoon activities we can do!

July 13
Today I chose to go to the community service informative session. This just gave the dates for upcoming community service events and an explanation of what we would do for each one.

I went to a Ugandan bead making session today. To make a bead, you cut a thin piece of paper and roll it up around a toothpick. Then. you glue the end down and take the bead off of the toothpick. At the end, you coat it in polyacrylic.

Today was my favorite afternoon activity so far! I went to a sign language lesson. I learned how to sign my name, age, favorite color, favorite animal, and things I love to do. I also learned about common myths about deaf people that are not true.
July 16
Today I went to the Ibiyanka session. Ibiyanka is known as an MSA legend, and I can see why! He views love and the world in such an amazing way. He is also an extremely talented artist! In his class, I got to paint with him. He really emphasized that we should be smiling while we paint. He was very interesting to listen to, and I am glad I went!

I did not go to an afternoon session today. Instead of an afternoon activity, I went to the student center with ten of my friends here. We went to get smoothies but the place was closed which was very upsetting. We walked approximately a marathon to get there so we were pretty disappointed. We did end up shopping and buying snacks. I had a lot of fun, and I am glad we skipped afternoon activities.
